Joan Of Arc
This performance was by far my favourite of the festival. While it was as interesting as any of the other performances I saw, it had the added bonus of occurring in one of the more beautiful indoor spaces Vancouver has. The aspect of space in this performance, was for me, the most interesting aspect of the show. It was more than just simply the conflict between the message of the film and the venue in which we were watching; it was the way the two different aspects of the performance worked together, one old and one new, to create something different than just the sum of their parts and how this reflected itself in the way the performance attempted to re-purpose the interior space of the church.
